At Our Sansar we appreciate regular donations that help us sustain our projects and plan our budget ahead.
Our Sansar is an independent, young NGO with almost no overheads, working closely in partnership with local organisations, and that is why we can help impoverished communities better than larger and more established NGOs with much higher running costs.
Your support could help:
- Provide access to education to a large number of children who would normally be denied this access
- Provide shelter to street children who would otherwise have no roof over their heads and would engage in a number of dangerous activities such as prostitution or drug trafficking
- Provide education to street children who would otherwise not have any access to schooling
- Provide medical help to communities that do not have any access to clinics or information
- Save lives and human suffering by raising awareness on critical health issues
- Empower women and girls to play an active role in their society
- Support economic development by providing equivalent skills training and access to information
What is payroll giving (also known as Give As You Earn)?
Payroll Giving is a simple, efficient and flexible scheme, which allows you to donate by a direct deduction from your wage. All donations given in this way are tax effective so Our Sansar receives your donation and the tax you would have paid on this amount.
Payroll Giving donations are deducted before tax so each £1.00 you give will only cost you 80p, and if you're a higher rate tax payer it will only cost you 60p.
Payroll giving
- Is taken straight from your gross (pre tax) pay so there is no need for the charity you choose to physically claim the tax back through Gift Aid from HM Revenue & Customs, this saves them money in administration.

- Is the ONLY way that a charity can automatically receive all your tax on your charitable donation if you are a higher rate taxpayer.
- Is flexible - you can increase or decrease the amount, change charities or stop whenever you like
- Means your donation is tax-free
You just need to fill in one form
- First check with your employer whether they operate a payroll giving scheme. If they don't, they can easily set one up by contacting any of the Inland Revenue approved Payroll Giving agencies
- Fill out a donor form (which your employer should have). This authorizes your payroll department to take contributions from your salary.
- Your payroll department will then pass these funds onto an approved Payroll Giving agency.
- The Payroll Giving agency will then distribute donations to your chosen charity or charities.
Many employers choose to match their employees gifts, some even double-match their contributions.
When completing the donor form, you will be able to choose if you want to stay in contact with the charity you have chosen to support or you can ask for your name and address to be withheld from the charity.
If you do supply Our Sansar with your details, we will be happy to keep you informed of what your donations are helping us achieve in developing countries.
