Welcome To Our Sansar

Our Sansar is a UK-based non-governmental organisation working to provide education, healthcare, shelter and other amenities to the most disadvantaged people in the world’s poorest countries for whom little or no help is forthcoming.

We believe in development that is inclusive, responsive and accountable, and which empowers local communities to realise their rights.

FSI Challenge time again!

On the 30th June, the gates of Thornbridge Hall once again swing open as  the Our Sansar will travel to Derbyshire to partake in the FSI Challenge -  a day that mixes fundraising and family fun to benefit small charities that support disadvantaged communities across the world.

The FSI Challenge is an event like no other, where you will have the chance to walk or run a stunning 4 or 10km course through the picturesque Peak District, followed by a fantastic BBQ, garden party and luxury camping - for FREE!

The facilities are fantastic, including refreshments, water, showers, etc. ... Of course, all runners are welcome to bring along family or friends for support.

We therefore urge and invite all volunteers and supporters to either walk or run 5km or 10km raising a minimum of £150 for Our Sansar. With thanks to the FSI there is no registration fee so all funds you raise for us go straight to our cause of building a shelter home for the street children in Nepal.

Help with fundraising and transport will be provided!!!

When the sleeping gets rough, Our Sansar gets tough

Our Sansar is calling for people to join them in a Sleep-Out for charity on 14 April 2012 in a show of solidarity with street children globally. The challenge is to experience what it is like to sleep rough and to raise money in the process. Our Sansar is organising a Brighton event and are encouraging people all over the country to join them by setting up their own local events.

Comedy Rocks the Komedia, Brighton

komedia2Well, it’s definitely been a great week for Our Sansar. Last night we held our Comedy Rocks the Komedia in Brighton and it was a HUGE success. After a bit of a stressful beginning to the week, as is the case when organising any type of event, it all came together on the night. Our fantastic line up of comedians, including the multi-talented actress and comedian Sara Pascoe and the international ‘flaneur, raconteur, bon-viveur’ Marcel Lucont, helped us to pack the Komedia to the brim. With the addition of our raffle (fantastic prizes ranging from mushroom picking, personal training sessions, Lucy Loveheart art work, and tickets to Brighton Racecourse, to name just a few) we managed to raise over £1200 towards the launch of our shelter for street children in Chitwan, Nepal.

A MASSIVE thank you to all the comedians, everyone who donated a raffle prize, Komedia for the great venue, food and drinks, and, of course, to all those who joined us for such a fun night and donated generously.

And a massive thank you to M & V Manufacturing (HK) Ltd who sponsored our event. Without them we wouldn't have been able to raise these necessary funds for the children's home.
